Other
+ OTHER có nghĩa là "khác, kia" được đặt trước danh từ đếm được ở số nhiều và danh từ không đếm được.
Ví dụ:
- Other pens (some more pens)
- Other books (some more books)
- Other water (some more water)
- Other milk (some more milk)
+ ANOTHER thật ra là an + other có nghĩa là "một... khác nữa", được đặt trước danh từ đếm được ở số ít.
Ví dụ:
- Another pen (= one more pen)
- Another book (= one more book)
+ THE OTHER có nghĩa là "còn lại" được đặt trước danh từ đếm được ở số ít, danh từ đếm được ở số nhiều và danh từ không đếm được.
Ví dụ:
- The other pen (the last pen present)
- The other book (the last book present)
- The other water (the remaining water)
- The other milk (the remaining milk)
- The other pens (alls remaining pens)
- The other books (all remaing books)

Ví dụ:
- I don't want this book. Please give me another.
- I don't want this book. Please give me the other.
- I don't want these books. Please give me the others.
- This book is interesting. Others are interesting, too.
Ngoài ra, ta có thể dùng ANOTHER ONE hoặc OTHER ONE(S) để tránh lặp lại danh từ đã nói trước đó.
Ví dụ:
- I don't want this book. Please give me another one.
- I don't want this book. Please give me the other one.
- I don't want these books. Please give me the other ones.
- This book is interesting. Other ones are interesting, too.
